Weds 1st Oct 7pm to 8.30pm at the Scout Hut - Cubs and Scouts to please bring a parent and a pet for an informal night discussing the future of the group and introducing family pets to each other. If it gets too much for our dog, we'll be popping her in her travel crate in the car, so perhaps come prepared to do the same.

Weds 24th Sept Crabbing 6.45pm to 8.15pm

Weds 24th Sept - Please meet at Axmouth Bridge at 6.45, and be collected at 8.15 from the seafront Esplanade junction with Beach Road. Bring crabbing lines, bait, bucket, head/hand torch and coat. Uniform to be worn. Will the Cubs or the Scouts catch the most??

Assistant leader and regular parent helpers needed please!

We have combined cubs and scouts due to a shortage in leaders and helpers. If you can help, or know someone who can, please contact us via the contact form.

So many young people in Seaton get so much from the Scouting experience and to secure it's future we need more volunteers. It is fun, so why not give it a try!

Wednesday 16th July 2014 - Water challenges at the scout hall!

We will have a number of water challenges. There is not intention that you should get wet but you may wish to bring some spare clothes just in case!!

There are still 6 who have not paid there subs for this term. Please could you bring this on Wednesday.

Patrol Ethos statements.

At scouts last week I asked the patrols to come up with what they thought were important issues that make a successful patrol.
I was very impressed and encouraged by what they came up with. The attached document summarises what each patrol wrote. I have adapted their wording slightly, mainly by merging one or two of their ideas into one. Otherwise they are what they wrote.

A Scout Troop is divided into small groups called Patrols, each headed up by an older Scout called a Patrol Leader, and often with an Assistant Patrol Leader.

Scouting is about being with friends, as part of a team, and participating fully in the adventure and opportunities of life.

Activities

Posted in

Scouts are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities as part of their programme. Participation rather than meeting set standards is the key approach, and for the Scout who wants to be recognised for his or her achievements there are a number of Challenges awards and activity badges.
